BaySpo Commitment to a Safe and Inclusive Environment

At the Bayreuth Center of Sport Science (BaySpo), we are committed to fostering a safe and respectful environment for all members of our community. Our mission is to raise awareness of all forms of violence in sport and to implement proactive measures that prevent harm.

The cornerstones of our Safeguarding Policy (german language only) are:

  1. Breaking the Taboo – Encouraging open and constructive dialogue about personal boundaries and potential risk situations.
  2. Raising Awareness – Promoting a culture of respect, tolerance, and inclusivity, characterized by attentiveness, the courage to speak up, and active support for one another.
  3. Prevention and Intervention – Establishing preventive measures alongside accessible, low-threshold options for confidential advice, support, and formal complaints.

Understanding Sexualized Violence

Sexualized violence encompasses a range of actions in which power is exercised through sexual means. This includes sexual acts involving physical contact as well as non-contact behaviors such as verbal or gestural sexual harassment and violations of sexual boundaries. A detailed definition can be found in our Safeguarding Policy.
